Based on Kalki’s famous novel “Ponniyin Selvan”, Mani Ratnam, one of India’s ace filmmakers, will be helming Ponniyin Selvan in two parts.
The film features Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Trisha, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Kishore, Jayaram, Lal, Rahman, Ashwin. The poster for the film was released recently and was well received.
Sreekar Prasad will be handling the editing department while Ravi Varman will be handling the cinematogrpahy of the film. Thota Tharani is working as the art director and AR Rahman composes music for the film.
Filming for the film took place in Pondicherry, Hyderabad, Gwalior, Archa, Maheshwar, Pollachi, Udumalai and Mysore to name a few. It was recently officially announced that the shooting of this film wrapped up completely. Post-production work on the film is currently underway.
Along with the release date, the character look posters of the film have been released. Vikram as Aditya Karikalan, Karthi as Vallavaraiyan Vandiyadevan and Jayam Ravi as Arulmozhivarman.
Jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, the film will be released in two parts. The first installment of “Ponniyin Selvan-1” will be released on September 30, 2022.
