Akash Madhwal was the name on everyone’s lips as Mumbai Indians dominated Lucknow Super Giants by 81 runs in the 2023 Indian Premier League Eliminator.
The 29-year-old right arm pacer from Uttarakhand would clinch five wickets by conceding only five runs to help the five-time IPL winners mark a remarkable defence of 182 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Former India seamer Irfan Pathan would praise heaped praise of the player of the match on Wednesday. “We have never seen an uncapped player dominate in a high-pressure game. Akash Madhwal has picked up 9 wickets in the last two games. He deserves all the credit for taking MI to the Qualifier,” Pathan told Star Sports.
