Twitter has introduced a new feature for verified users on iOS that lets them download videos without having to resort to a third-party tool.
Twitter, now rebranded as X, has been making news for all sorts of reasons in the last few days. While many are wondering what prompted Elon Musk to replace the blue bird logo, the platform seems to have quietly released a new feature that lets Twitter Blue (verified) users download videos without having to resort to a third-party tool.
According to a Twitter support page, videos uploaded to the platform after July 25 will be downloadable by Verified Users unless the uploader has opted out. Users can choose to not let others download their video by disabling the ‘Allow video to be downloaded’ option, which can be accessed by clicking on the ‘Edit’ button in the bottom right of the screen after adding a video to a tweet.
If you disable downloads for your video, other users won’t be able to directly share videos to third-party platforms but can share a link to the tweet.
