TweetDeck, now ‘XPro’, has become a paid service

TweetDeck is a widely utilised service within the media industry for account scheduling and management.

Elon Musk’s social media platform, X, formerly known as Twitter, has recently imposed restrictions on its TweetDeck (XPro) social media management dashboard, limiting access to only paid Blue subscribers. Users who do not have a Blue subscription and attempt to access TweetDeck are now redirected to X’s Blue subscription page.

The URL tweetdeck.com now directs to twitter.com/i/premium_sign_up, which highlights the benefits of the Blue subscription on the X microblogging platform.

On top of TweetDeck (XPro) access, X is also providing additional incentives to its paid users, such as the ability to publish long-form content, upload 1080p videos, enjoy higher post ranking, and benefit from a newly announced revenue-sharing policy. By elevating TweetDeck to a premium feature, Elon Musk is clearly aiming to attract new users to the paid program.

Originally, TweetDeck was one of the most popular third-party Twitter applications and was acquired by Twitter in 2011. Over the years, the company added new features and capabilities, including multi-account access and custom feed options. As of now, a subscription to Twitter Blue costs Rs 650 per month or Rs 6,800 per year when subscribed via a web browser to access TweetDeck (XPro).
