The company took its official Twitter handle to make the announcement. Indian users will now be able to have early access to a variety of features.
OpenAI has introduced its ChatGPT Plus subscription for Indian users. The company took its official Twitter account on Friday to make the announcement. The latest development comes at a time when tech giants are racing to offer the best of generative AI to their consumers.
“Great news! ChatGPT Plus subscriptions are now available in India. Get early access to new features, including GPT-4 today,” read the tweet from the company’s official handle.
Earlier this week, OpenAI launched its latest iteration of GPT—GPT-4, which is fuelling its AI chatbot ChatGPT. “We’ve created GPT-4, the latest milestone in OpenAI’s effort in scaling up deep learning,” the company said. GPT-4 is essentially a large multimodal model that accepts inputs in text and images and relays outputs in texts. The company claims that GPT-4 exhibits human-level performance on various professional and academic benchmarks.
GPT-4 can encompass more than just text – it also accepts images as input. On the contrary, GPT-3 and GPT-3.5 only operated in one modality, text, allowing users only to ask questions by typing them out. According to OpenAI, GPT-4 is more advanced than its predecessors when it comes to creativity, visual comprehension and context. It also possesses the ability to collaborate with users on various creative projects, including music, screenplays, technical writing, etc.
The latest language model is capable of processing up to 25,000 words of text from the user or even engaging with text from web links shared by the user. The company said that GPT-4 can assist in creating long-form content and facilitate extended conversations.
