Domestic LPG cylinder is sold at Rs 929 in Kolkata and at Rs 902.5 in Mumbai.
The oil marketing companies Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd increased the price of commercial 19 kg LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas) cylinders by up to Rs 101.5 in the four metro cities with effect from November 1.
A 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder will now cost Rs 1,833 in Delhi instead of Rs 1,731 and will cost Rs 1,785 in Mumbai. In Kolkata and Chennai, the price of a commercial LPG will now be Rs 1,934 and Rs 1,999.5 respectively.
This is the second price hike for commercial LPG cylinders in the last two months. However, prices of domestic LPG, used in households for cooking purposes, remain unchanged.

Last month, the Union Cabinet had approved a of Rs 100 in the cooking gas subsidy taking it to Rs 300 ahead of the national elections scheduled in the upcoming year. This was announced shortly after the decision of expanding PM Ujjwala Yojana scheme to additional 7.5 million women in order to increase the total number of beneficiaries to 103.5 million in the next three years.
