Lucknow Super Giants mute ‘mangoes’ after Naveen-ul-Haq gets brutally trolled

This came after LSG and Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq was brutally trolled due to his previous “mango” stories aimed at former RCB skipper Virat Kohli.

After suffering a massive 81-run defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2023 eliminator on Wednesday, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) took to Twitter to mute the word “mango” and its various synonyms.

This came after LSG and Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq was brutally trolled due to his previous “mango” Instagram story aimed at former RCB skipper Virat Kohli.

Earlier this month, Naveen posted an Instagram story just as MI were about to defeat RCB and posted one of the pictures eating mangoes, moments after Kohli’s dismissal for 1 off 4 with the caption “Sweet mangoes”.

He then shared the picture of the MI-RCB game on TV where Mumbai needed eight runs going into the 17th over. It was captioned: “Round 2 with these. One of the best mangoes I’ve ever had thanks @dhaval_parab bhai.”

And post Mumbai Indians’ convincing win over Lucknow in the IPL Eliminator on Wednesday, MI players also took to social media to post a picture of themselves enjoying mangoes, as fans assumed it was aimed at Naveen.

“Sweet season of mangoes,” wrote seamer Sandeep Warrier alongside a photo of Kumar Kartikeya, Vishnu Vinod, and a table with three mangoes in the centre.

However, when the post caught fans’ attention, it was taken down.IPL 2023, LSG vs MIMI players Sandeep Warrier, Kumar Kartikeya and Vishnu Vinod. (Screengrab/Instagram)

It all started after the infamous verbal spat between LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir and RCB’s Virat Kohli during their game at Lucknow on May 3. Following RCB’s win in an emotionally-charged contest, Kohli and Naveen had to be separated after a conversation during handshakes. Naveen shook Kohli’s hand tightly, was not ready to let it go, and said something before the RCB batter shook it off.
