Vetrimaran, a director who is good at filming novels in Tamil cinema, will be directing the screenplay for his next film Vadivasal, a short novel written by writer “Chi Su Sellappa” Vadivasal.
Prior to this, Vetrimaran directed “Asuran” and “Visaranai” and the current release “Visaranai” is based on novels and short stories. Director Vetrimaran is directing ‘Viduthalai’, a collaboration with actor Soori following the films ‘Asuran’ and ‘Paava Kadhaigal’.
The title look of the movie “Vaadivaasal” produced by Kalaipuli Thanu, starring Surya and directed by Vetrimaran for the first time, was released a few days back. It has received a unanimous response from fans since its release.
Preliminary work on the film is underway, with director Vetrimaran attending a discussion on cinema at the International Film Festival of Kerala 2022 in the state of Kerala. It was also attended by Malayalam directors Lijo Joseph Pellissery, Kamal and Sibi Malaiyil.
Speaking on the occasion, Vetrimaran said, “Once upon a time, Tamil cinema heroines were not given a chance if they knew Tamil. Other language actresses who did not speak Tamil were cast. Now the situation has changed.” He also said that he had cast non-Tamil heroines in his first two films and that the heroine of the second film did not know Tamil.
