CFPB head: banks’ overdraft fee changes show progress, but ‘it is not enough’

NEW YORK (Reuters) – The head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau said on Wednesday that the changes that big U.S. banks have made to overdraft fees in recent months are “progress but it is not enough.”

CFPB Director Rohit Chopra was speaking to reporters on a call discussing an agency initiative launched Wednesday to collect public comments about various junk fees consumers are charged by banks.
