The new Dell Inspiron 14 powered by the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 is a budget friendly laptop that offers great price to performance ratio.
Dell recently launched an updated version of the Inspiron 14, but instead of sporting an x86 architecture-based AMD or Intel processor, the latest version features a Snapdragon chipset based on ARM architecture that’s primarily used on smartphones and tablet processors. The new Inspiron 14 also happens to be the PC manufacturer’s first-ever Windows laptop on ARM.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 Compute platform, the laptop claims to offer up to 16 hours of battery life, but that might vary depending on what you do. The power efficient Snapdragon chipset also means that the new Inspiron 14 does not generate much heat and as a result, it is a fan-less laptop like the latest MacBook Air with M1 and M2 chipsets. Powered by the Adreno 690 GPU, it has 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD.
It also gets support for the Qualcomm AI engine which helps enhance the overall audio and visual experience when you are using the webcam. The Dell Inspiron 14 Snapdragon edition comes with a 14-inch Full HD screen with a refresh rate of 60Hz and runs on Windows 11 out of the box. It also comes with a 1080p webcam with dual digital microphones and two speakers with Qualcomm Aqstic audio technology.
On the connectivity front, you get a USB Type-C port capable of charging the laptop at 65W alongside one USB Type-A port, another USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, a headphone jack, tri-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and a microSD card reader. It is currently available in the United States for $500 (approx. Rs. 41,370), but there is no word if and when Dell will bring the Snapdragon edition of the Inspiron 14 to India.
