Canva unveils generative AI tools; features text-to-image, AI-powered presentations & more

The graphic platform announced a slew of features a day after Adobe launched its family of creative generative AI models.

Generative AI is being adopted at a rapid pace by companies across the spectrum. A day after US-based software giant Adobe introduced its new family of creative generative AI models, popular graphic design platform Canva has now unveiled a slew of generative AI tools.

It seems the design platform is looking forward to competing with the likes of Google, Microsoft, and Adobe which have already unleashed their generative AI-powered tools. Canva announced that it is introducing a set of brand management products and AI-powered design tools focused on helping users streamline their content creation.

The Australian company said that most of the new features have been developed to aid the creation of social media graphics, presentations, and advertising materials for those who do not have any professional experience in designing. The company stated that the main intention was to leave graphic designers with more time to tackle important tasks. Reportedly, the features announced by Canva could challenge the dominance of Adobe in office spaces.

More tools for Visual Worksuite

Among its latest additions, Canva has introduced a Brand Hub to its Visual Worksuite. The Brand Hub will provide tools that can aid users in staying consistent with their company’s visual identity. Users will no longer need to rely on a shared drive, messages, and emails to designers. They will be able to create a Brand Kit with company-specific assets like logos, colours, fonts, design guidelines, etc. This feature will also allow users to access Brand Folders that will help in bringing group assets for specific events, campaigns, brand templates, and projects into one place.

Other features launched by Canva include Magic Replace Tool, Magic Design, Magic Edit, Draw, etc. Its generative AI capabilities include creating written content, text-to-image, and more.

Magic Design: This feature will come in handy for users who have been struggling to find the ideal design or a template of their choice. With this feature, users only need to upload an image, select style, and see it transform. Users can select a range of customizable templates and edit them according to their preferences. The feature also automatically chooses fonts, images, graphics, and styles based on the inputs from the user.

Magically generate presentation: Users simply need to give their idea in a few words and watch the tool intuitively create a professional-looking presentation slide deck. Once the first draft is rolled, users can edit and ornament their presentations further.

Magic Write: This feature was announced last year along with the Magic Write for Canva Docs. Now, Canva has finally launched the feature to write a range of content from speeches to SEO-friendly blog posts. Users can access Magic Write across the Visual Worksuite. The feature is now available in 18 languages.

Canva has detailed the features on its official website for users to understand and make the most of them.
