Apple Intelligence delayed, here’s when it is expected to come to your iPhone now

The features of Apple Intelligence with iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 are expected to come in October

Apple might delay their much awaited launch of Apple Intelligence for its iOS 18 and iPadOS updates. Reportedly, Apple Intelligence will not be ready for the public releases of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 in September.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the tech giant plans to delay the release of features of Apple Intelligence. The features of Apple Intelligence with iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 are expected to come in October.

What’s the update

Gurman said that the company now plans to start rolling out Apple Intelligence in software updates by October. This means it will arrive several weeks after the launch of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia. This will eventually make Apple Intelligence to split out of the initial launch of the new software updates. The reason for the delay is expected to be concern about the stability of Apple Intelligence features. Rumors also suggest that Apple believes that there is a need for developers to have sufficient testing time, for strengthening security structures.

However, Apple Intelligence is expected to be made available to software developers for the first time as soon as next week with the first betas of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1. This initiative might be extremely unusual as Apple usually doesn’t release previews of follow-up software updates until the first version has been released.

In addition to this Gurman highlighted that the new release strategy for Apple Intelligence means that the iPhone 16 lineup will likely launch without Apple Intelligence features and require a software update to obtain them at a later date. The company is now said to be aiming to have development of iOS 18.0 completed by the end of July.

Other updates

A few days earlier there had been rumour of the discontinuation of the iPhone’s Plus line. An X (formerly Twitter) user Ice Universe claimed that Apple will introduce a “Slim” model positioned above the iPhone 17 Pro Max. He further suggested that the standard iPhone 17 is expected to have a separate A19 chip. However, the details on its camera and other features remained unclear.

Furthermore, Ice Universe also suggested that the “Slim” model might have a dual-lens camera and an aluminium frame.Another rumour suggested that Apple is likely to unveil the official iPhone 17 lineup in September 2025. However, these are all speculations and only time could unveil the exact plans of Apple.
