Cricket World Cup: ‘Afghanistan played better cricket than Pakistan,’ feel Wasim Akram and Shoaib Malik

Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik says in this ODI World Cup, the Afghanistan cricket team have played better cricket than Pakistan.

Former Pakistan skippers Wasim Akram and Shoaib Malik said that the Afghanistan team has played better cricket than Babar Azam and Co in the ongoing Cricket World Cup.

“Afghanistan played better cricket than us,” Malik said A Sports.

Malik also suggested that among the sub-continent teams only India deserved to be in the semi-finals.

“India is the only team form the sub-continent, who has qualified for the last four.

“In my opinion, if we are just sticking with this World Cup then yes Afghanistan have played better cricket than us,” said Malik.

Wasim Akram agreed with Malik’s opinion and said the Pakistan team looked fatigued.

“Afghans looked stronger. Maybe, our boys looked fatigued because they were playing cricket continuously. Afghanistan cricketers looked better than Pakistan, there is no doubt,” said Wasim Akram.

Pakistan will play their last league match against England on Saturday at Eden Gardens.

As it stands for Babar Azam and Co to qualify for the semis, if Pakistan bat first and score 300, they have to bowl England out for 13. If Pakistan bowl first and dismiss England for 50, they have to chase it in around 2.3 overs.
