AppleCare+ adds a lot more protection to your iPhone and is best suited for those, who plan on using their iPhones for a substantial period.
The latest iPhone 15 series is already available for pre-order and will go on sale starting September 22. It is quite common to buy a case and a screen protector for your newly bought iPhone to prevent accidental damage. However, even with a case and a screen guard, accidents are inevitable, and this is why investing in AppleCare+, a first-party insurance policy matters.
AppleCare+, a comprehensive insurance policy from Cupertino not only offers two additional years of warranty but also provides complete accidental damage protection to your iPhone for a fraction of the cost. This year, Apple has made its Care+ policy slightly cheaper in India.
Check out all the advantages that an AppleCare+ policy adds to your iPhone:
AppleCare+ prices for iPhones in India
The cost of AppleCare+ depends on the actual value of the iPhone. In India, the AppleCare+ policy for the iPhone SE (3rd Gen) costs Rs 7,900. Similarly, it is priced at Rs 14,900 for the iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and the iPhone 15. For the larger iPhone 14 Plus and the iPhone 15 Plus, AppleCare+ will set you back by Rs 17,900. Lastly, for the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max (what makes it special), AppleCare+ costs Rs 20,900.
How to Buy AppleCare+ in India?
There are several ways to buy AppleCare+ in India, and one of the easiest ways to do it is to purchase it alongside your new iPhone from the official Apple Store (online and offline).
Did you buy an iPhone from elsewhere? There is also a provision to buy AppleCare+ from the Apple Store within 60 days of the original purchase date. However, in this case, the iPhone has to be physically inspected at the Apple Store along with the purchase receipt. Your iPhone will become ineligible if it has any physical damage, and Apple will deny the sale of AppleCare+ for that specific iPhone.
Benefits of AppleCare+
AppleCare+ extends your iPhone warranty coverage to a total of three years by adding two additional years to the standard one-year warranty that comes by default worldwide. Similarly, it also covers unlimited incidents of accidental damage protection. However, one has to pay an additional Rs 2,500 for back glass or screen repair or Rs 8,900 for any other type of accidental damage, which includes camera or motherboard repairs.
AppleCare+ subscribers can get their iPhone battery replaced if the original capacity goes below 80 per cent. Besides, Apple also offers priority technical support for the entire period, which is limited to 90 days for non-subscribers.
Please note that back glass repair service is only available for iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and the iPhone 15 series. Under AppleCare+ coverage, to get these repairs done, one can either opt for pickup and delivery or go for carry-in repairs along with same-day service.
