As Twitter continues its transformation into X, CEO Linda Yaccarino, has confirmed that platform users will soon be able to make audio and video calls without sharing their phone numbers. During an interaction with CNBC, Linda confirmed that users can make calls within the Direct Message (DM) menu.
Additionally, Andrea Conway, a design engineer at X, has shared a picture of the new DM menu featuring an option for making voice and video calls. The video calling option is located in the top right corner of the X’s DM menu, and its appearance resembles that of most platforms.
According to Linda, unlike some platforms, X will not require its users to share their phone numbers to initiate voice or video calls. Furthermore, X will implement certain restrictions to prevent spam calls.
