Adam Mosseri of Instagram confirmed Threads will soon get direct messaging option.
As Meta continues to add more features to its latest microblogging platform Threads, Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram has now confirmed to The Washington Post that the platform will soon gain direct messages (DMs) option, enabling users to chat with friends and followers.
Meta’s other social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram have had DM options for a while, hence, it should not take much effort from the company to roll out the same to its latest social media platform, said to take on X, previously known as Twitter.
The report from The Washington Post also highlights how the Meta group thought of adding Twitter-like features to its already existing platform — Instagram. However, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, wanted to go big, which resulted in the creation of the app Threads.
