Articles is coming to Twitter. The new feature will let you write long-form content with mixed media.
Twitter is working on a new feature that will allow users to write more than just tweets. The feature, formerly known as Notes, has been rebranded as Articles, and will enable users to create and publish long-form content with multimedia elements on the platform.
The feature was confirmed by Twitter CEO Elon Musk in a reply to a tweet. Musk said that Articles will be the place to post “long, complex articles with mixed media,” and even suggested that users could publish books on Twitter.
Articles is not a new idea, but a revamped version of Notes, which was introduced last year as “a way to write longer on Twitter” in a few countries. Notes allowed users to write up to 2,500 words. However, the feature did not gain much traction and was overshadowed by other updates, such as Twitter Blue, the subscription service which among various features includes one that extends the tweet length to 25,000 characters.
